Pastor Derwin joined Northland’s staff in July of 2022. Derwin, and his wife, Jacquelyn, were married in 2002 and have always had their feet in spheres of education (public, private, and homeschool arenas). Derwin's passions include serving the Lord in ministry, education, music, working with students and parents, and helping individuals fulfill their future goals and passions through organizational leadership and practical innovation. Ultimately, Derwin wants to see souls and lives changed for eternity. 

Derwin was first called to ministry on his first mission trip to Honduras a few days after graduating high school. He went on to graduate from USF, with a degree in Gerontology and Chemistry. In 2004, he graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Christian Studies. He loves all things music, strategic planning, and missions (local and overseas) and also has a passion for the intersection of public grade school education and ministry.

Derwin, Jacquelyn, and their children Sebastian, Symone, Shiloh, and Sheridan are excited to see what God has in store. They feel they have returned home as both Derwin (Tampa) and Jacquelyn (St. Cloud) were raised in Florida.
