Before your family devotional time, be sure you have an Easter egg. Hide the Secret Symbol (Easter egg) in the Treasure Box.

If family members have given up a favorite thing or started a new habit for Lent, share how it’s going. How has it helped your heart and mind to focus on Jesus and what He has done for us?

Display the Seven Stars Poster. Today, we celebrate the last of the seven stars. During Lent, we focused our hearts on who Jesus is and what He has done for us. At the end of Lent, believers celebrate because after Jesus died for us, God raised Him from the dead. Jesus is alive forever! That’s why our final star is named The Star of Life.

Child reveals the Secret Symbol (Easter egg). Our secret symbol for Easter is an egg. It stands for new life. On the first Easter, God the Father raised His Son Jesus from death to life! He is alive forever! The egg reminds us that just as a baby chick begins its life from an egg, our new life with God begins when we first believe in Jesus.

Child or parent reads John 11:25-26 from the Bible.

“Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?’”

Display the Lent Reminder. Join me in saying our Lent Reminder:

Each time you see an Easter egg, celebrate the forever life Jesus gives to all believers. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). That’s something to celebrate! Sing Bible Memory Verse Song: “For God So Loved the World” or read John 3:16.
