The King Ascends (May 25-31)

May 25, 2020

This week, we've heard how Jesus ascended or rose up into heaven after he told His followers to go into the world and make disciples of all nations, our greatest mission from Jesus. Jesus is in heaven now and we look forward to His return someday.

When you sit at home: Age 3-Grade 3 read Acts 1:8b-11. Grades 4-5 read Acts 1:8b-11; Revelation 22:20. What do you think heaven is like?

When you walk along the road: Before Jesus rose up to heaven, He promised to send a helper—the Holy Spirit—to be with us. He kept that promise. God puts the Holy Spirit in the hearts of all who believe in Jesus. How does the Holy Spirit help us?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, we look up to heaven and think about You. Thank You for Your promise to come back one day. Amen.”

When you get up: Go outside with your family, sit or lie down on the ground, and look up at the clouds. We don’t know when Jesus will come back, but what do you think that day will be like?
