This week we are learning more of Jesus’ parables. A parable is a story that teaches a lesson. Jesus used parables to teach people about God’s kingdom.
When you sit at home:
Ages 3-K read Mark 4:26-29. Jesus taught that God made the plants grow. God makes you grow, too. What will you be able to do when you are a grown-up that you can’t do now?
Grades 1-5 read Luke 8:4-8, 11-15. The seed is like God’s Word. When we listen to God’s Word, it’s like planting the seed in good soil. What keeps you from listening to God’s Word?
When you walk along the road: Why do you think Jesus used seeds to teach people about God’s kingdom?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, make us like the good soil, that we might listen to Your Word. Amen.”
When you get up: Plant some seeds or purchase a small plant. Remember the lesson you’ve learned today as you watch it grow.
