When you sit at home: Age 3-Grade K read Acts 2:1-4; Grades 1-5 read Acts 2:1-8, 32-33, 36-39, 41. Imagine yourself in this story. You are one of Jesus’ followers when, on the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you begin to share the gospel with total strangers in a language you didn’t know. How would you explain all this to a friend who wasn’t there?
When you walk along the road: When the disciples received the Holy Spirit they began speaking in many languages and telling the people there the mighty works of the God. What mighty works or wonders of God would you like to share with people?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for pouring out Your Spirit on all people at Pentecost. Fill us with Your Spirit so we may share the good news about Jesus with people all over the world. Amen.”
When you get up: Find someone you know who speaks a language different than your own. Ask them to teach you how to say, “Jesus loves you” in their language. If they have a Bible written in their language, ask them to read Acts 2:1-4 or a favorite Bible verse to you.
