Paul and the Shipwreck (May 22-23)

Paul and the Shipwreck (May 22-23)

May 21, 2021

We worship the Spirit who connects us to God in a personal way. This weekend in children’s church, we will read how when Paul was sailing for Rome and they were caught in a storm, God saved everyone on the ship just as He had promised. We’ll talk about how we can trust God and know that He has a plan for our lives.

When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read Acts 27:14-15, 18, 20, 23-25, 41, 43b-44. Grades 1-2 read Acts 27:20-26,29-32, 39-44. Grades 3-5 read Acts 27:14-44. How did the Lord use Paul to encourage the others on the ship?

When you walk along the road: Paul trusted God’s plan even when things looked impossible. He had faith that God was in control. Paul went through a physical storm with rain and wind, but sometimes we go through storms in life, difficult situations that may make us afraid, sad, or angry. How can God use the storms in our lives to guide us?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for strengthening our faith through the good and bad of life. Help us to always trust in Your plan for our lives.”

When you get up: Create your own toy boat with cork, foam egg carton, or water bottle, then have a boat race in a bathtub, pool, or pond. See who can move their boat the quickest from start to finish by blowing through a straw onto the sails. Don’t blow too hard or you might sink your boat!
