If a man without limbs can be the hands and feet of Jesus, so can we.

Growing up, Nick Vujicic, born without arms and legs, questioned the purpose of life — and whether he had one. He struggled with loneliness and depression, which led him to attempt to take his own life at age 10.

“My faith in Jesus Christ was sealed after seven years of wondering why, God, I was born this way,” Nick explained when speaking at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, four years ago. “He answered me very clearly through John chapter 9, and I gave my life to Jesus at 15 after reading about how He came across a man who was born blind.”

John 9:3 states, “This happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” Then his purpose became clear to see.

“I’m like, ‘Wow, God, if You have a plan for the blind man, You do have a plan for me,” said Nick, now 35. “And that was the beginning of my personal relationship with Jesus.”

From there opportunities began to open up all over the place for him to share his testimony—in youth groups, churches, public schools and more. At one event, a girl interrupted him, asked to come hug him, and whispered to him, “No one’s ever told me that I’m beautiful the way I am.”

“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “It changed my life. That is when I knew I was called to be a worldwide evangelist.”

Today he is a world-renowned motivational speaker — he’s shared his story in nearly 60 countries and with millions of people — and New York Times bestselling author. And the founder, president and CEO of Life Without Limbs, a nonprofit whose mission is to share the Good News of Jesus through Nick’s own life, has no intentions of slowing down.

“Our goal at Life Without Limbs ministry is to preach to every single soul on the planet — 7 billion people. We believe this goal is possible, as the Holy Spirit is gathering an army and building up supporters to send us and accomplish this mission.”

You too have the opportunity to hear and be inspired by Nick — and learn from him how you can help spread the greatest news ever told. He will be speaking here at Northland on Wednesday, March 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Longwood sanctuary. He will share inspirations and insights from his new book, “Be the Hands and Feet: Living Out God’s Love for All His Children,” which releases February 13 (WaterBrook).

“If just one more person finds eternal life in Jesus Christ … it is all worth it. You can help me spread this message today!” Nick says.
