We worship the God who keeps all His promises. This weekend in children's church, we will hear stories from the life of Jacob. God kept His promise to be with Jacob and to make him into a nation.
When you sit at home: Ages 3-K read Genesis 28:12-17. Grades 1-2 read Genesis 28:11-19; 33:4, 8-10; 35:3. Grade 3 reads Genesis 32:24-30; 33:4, 8-10; 35:1, 10-12. Grades 4-5 read Genesis 29:25-27; 31:40-42;32:24-30; 35:1-3, 10-12. What promise(s) did God make to Jacob? God kept all of His promises to Jacob.
When you walk along the road: God promises to watch over us just like He did Jacob. How have you seen God’s promise come true for your family?
Ages 4-K Whisper Verse: “The Lord is in this place.”
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for watching over us wherever we go. Help us remember You are always with us, even as we sleep and dream. Amen.”
When you get up: The Bible is full of God’s promises to us. Jacob built an altar of stone to worship and thank God for keeping His promises to be with him. Collect some rocks (or crumple newspaper into balls) and stack the rocks as family members take turns naming God’s promises. Not sure where to start? Google “list God’s promises.”
