Letters About Forgiving Others (June 26-27)

June 24, 2021

We worship the Holy Spirit who guides us to forgive others. This weekend in children’s church, we will continue reading from the New Testament letters. We’ll talk about how Jesus calls us to forgive others just as He has forgiven us.

When you sit at home: Age3-Kindergarten read Ephesians 4:32.Grades 1-3 read Colossians 3:12-13; 1 Corinthians 13:5. Grades 4-5 read Colossians3:12-14; 1 Corinthians 13:5; Titus 3:4-5. If you met someone who didn't know what it meant to forgive, how would you describe it?

When you walk along the road: Is it easy to forgive people who have hurt you? How might remembering that Jesus has forgiven your sins help you to forgive others who do wrong against you? Ask God to help you to forgive those who hurt you and to ask for forgiveness when you have hurt someone else.

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: Lord Jesus, thank You for making a way so we can be forgiven. Help us to forgive each other as You have forgiven us. Amen.”

When you get up: 1 Peter 3:9 says “Don’t be hateful and insult people just because they are hateful and insult you. Instead, treat everyone with kindness. You are God’s chosen ones, and He will bless you.” What does this mean to you? Is there someone you need to forgive right now? How can the Holy Spirit help you treat that person with kindness?
