This week, ages 3-5 are learning Jesus’ teaching, “Let Your Light Shine” (Matthew 5:14-16). We will learn Jesus wants us to be the light of the world. Every good thing we do will point others to Him, just like a bright light shows the way to go.
Grades 1-5 are learning Jesus’ parable, “The Talents” (Matthew 25:14-30). Jesus taught about a master who entrusted his servants with money. We will learn we are called to be faithful with whatever God gives us.
When you sit at home: Read the parable for your child's age group. A parable is a story that teaches a lesson. Jesus used parables to teach people about God’s kingdom. What is the lesson Jesus wants us to learn from this parable?
When you walk along the road: How can we use what God has given us to point others to Jesus?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord,thank You for loving us so much that You have provided us with good things and with talents we can use for You. Show us how to use what we have to point others to You.”
When you get up: Take time this week to talk about the talents God has given each of you. Share what you see in each other and affirm the skills,abilities, and talents you each have. Challenge each other to choose one way you will use your best talent this week to point others to Jesus.
