We worship the God who is faithful. That means He keeps all His promises.
When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read Jonah 1:1-17. Jonah didn't want to go to Ninevah, so he ran away. Even though he disobeyed, how did God care for him?
Next weekend, we’ll find out what happens to Jonah while he’s in the belly of the fish. Do you think he was afraid? Our Bible memory verse (Psalm 145:13b) tells us God keeps all His promises. What promises do you think Jonah needed to be reminded of while he was in the fish’s belly? If you’re ever afraid or discouraged, remember God is always with you. Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”
Grades 1-5 read Isaiah 53:6; 45:22-23; 9:2, 6-7; 40:31. What is the warning, the choice, and the promise God has given us through these scriptures? How do these scriptures give you hope?
When you walk along the road: What are some of the reasons we might disobey God? God asks us to turn from these things and to follow Him. When we believe in Him and choose Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He gives us the Holy Spirit to help us choose God’s way over our own. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you keep your focus on God.

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness to us. Help us to keep our focus on You and Your will. Amen.”
When you get up: When the Bible talks about having faith in God it means we have put all our trust and hope in Him. Faith is listening to God and trusting He will help you and lead you where you should go. Prepare this object lesson to demonstrate what it means to have faith in God: Blindfold one person. Spin him or her around a few times, then give instructions on how to move across the room. As needed, provide instructions to keep him or her safe. Once across the room, instruct the person to turn around. Tell the person that when you give the command he/she is to sit down without feeling whether there is anything to sit on; he/she just has to have faith and sit down. As you are explaining this, very quietly bring out a chair or stool and position it under the person. Tell the person to sit. When safely seated, he/she may remove the blindfold. Afterward, discuss how this is like having faith in God.
