Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet (Apr 25-26)

Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet (Apr 25-26)

April 22, 2020

This weekend in children’s church, we will learn that Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. Jesus was an example to us of how to love others through serving.

When you sit at home: Ages 2-3 read John 13:1, 4-7, 12-17. Grades 1-3 read John 13:1, 4-5, 12-17. Grades 4-5 read John 13:1-17. In Bible Times, people walked on dirt roads and their feet would get very dusty and dirty. Servants would wash the feet of guests before dinner. Jesus was an honored guest and yet, He bent down and washed His disciples’feet. What reason did Jesus give for having done this? What does He want us to do?

When you walk along the road: How do you show your love to other people?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for showing your love by helping me. Please help me show love to others by helping them. Amen.”

When you get up: Sometimes, we think of the church as the building where we worship God. But, the church is also a group of people who follow Jesus together and live out the mission of Jesus in their everyday lives. Who is part of your church? How could you love someone in your church by serving them this week?
