Jesus Talks with Peter (May 11-17)

Jesus Talks with Peter (May 11-17)

May 11, 2020

This week we will learn about Jesus’ conversation with Peter after they had breakfast with the other disciples on the shore. Jesus asked Peter three times “Do you love Me?”

When you sit at home: Read John 21:15-17. Jesus wants to hear us say we love Him. He also wants us to show our love for Him. What are some of the ways we can show we love Jesus?

One of the best ways is to ask Jesus to come into your heart so you can follow Him and belong to Him forever. If you would like to do that now, you can pray this simple A.B.C. prayer:
Lord Jesus,
I Admit I am a sinner.
I Believe You are the Lord who died to take my sins away.
Please Come into my heart and I’ll follow You forever.
In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

If you or your child would like to know more about how to have a personal relationship with Jesus, use the Children’s Guide for New Believers (downloadable here) for further discussion and prayer.

When you walk along the road: Jesus asked Peter to take care of His sheep. Who are Jesus’ sheep? (People who believe in Him.) How can you or your family take care of Jesus’ sheep?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for loving us. We love You, too! Help us to show our love to You by showing love to each other. Amen.”

When you get up: Talk with your family about family members, friends, or neighbors that need some care this week. Make a get well card, a gift, or take them a meal. When you take care of those Jesus loves, you are showing Jesus you love Him!
