Jesus Is Transfigured (Feb 8-9)

Jesus Is Transfigured (Feb 8-9)

February 6, 2020

This weekend in children’s church, we hear the story of Jesus’ transfiguration. A transfiguration is a big change in the appearance of something or someone. Jesus took His followers up on a mountain where they saw an amazing change in His face and clothes. We are reminded that we are to listen to Jesus.

When you sit at home: Ages 3-K read Matthew 17:1-8. Grades 1-2 read Matthew 17:1-8, Grade 3 reads Matthew 17:1-9, and Grade 4-5 read Matthew 17:1-9; 5:17-18. What are some of the ways we hear Jesus’ words?

When you walk along the road: Ages 3-K: Why did Jesus face shine like the sun and His clothes become white as the light? Grades 1-5: How does this story show you Jesus is both God and man?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for showing us Jesus is Your very special Son. Help us to listen to Him every day. Amen.”

When you get up: Jesus’ disciples saw the glory of the Lord that day.We can see the glory of God in the miracles He does and in His blessings on our lives. Take turns sharing times when you have seen God’s glory in the Bible, in your life, or in the lives of people you know.
