Jesus and Zacchaeus (Mar 14-15)

Jesus and Zacchaeus (Mar 14-15)

March 12, 2020

In children’s church, we will hear a favorite Bible story about Jesus and Zacchaeus. Just as Jesus told Zacchaeus, Jesus wants to know us. He came to seek and save us.

When you sit at home: Read Luke 19:1-10. Zacchaeus climbed a tree to make sure he saw Jesus. If you knew Jesus was coming to your town, what would you do to make sure you saw Him?

When you walk along the road: When Zacchaeus met Jesus, He knew he had sinned. That means he knew he had done wrong things in God’s eyes. But, he also knew Jesus would forgive his sins. Jesus came to make a way for us to be forgiven and so we could live a life forever close with God.What does it mean to live close with God?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for coming to earth for me and seeking me. Here I am, Lord. I want to spend time with You. Amen.”

When you get up: "If Jesus was coming to my house, for dinner we would have …" is a fun memory game where each person adds to the previous responses. The first person says, "If Jesus was coming to my house, for dinner we would have …" and fills in the rest of the sentence with something you might eat for dinner. Each person then repeats the sentence along with what has already been said and adds their own food item to the end of the list. Help each other to remember the list and see how long of a list you can make!
