This weekend in children’s church, we will learn about Jesus’ last supper with His disciples. Jesus taught them a special way they could remember Him.
When you sit at home: Ages 2-3 read Luke 22:14, 19-20. Grades 1-2 read Luke 22:14-20. Grade 3 reads Luke 22:7-20. Grades 4-5 read Luke 22:14-23, 31-34. Remembering Jesus and all He has done for us is a great way to show we love Him. What is communion? How does it help us remember who Jesus is and what He has done?
When you walk along the road: What is a covenant? (A promise or agreement.) Jesus says the cup is the new covenant in His blood. What does that mean? What is the covenant Jesus makes with every believer?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Dear Lord, thank You for giving us a way to remember You. May You be glorified by everything we say and do. Amen.”
When you get up: Using sturdy paper, make placemats for each family member to remember the Last Supper. On it, write “Remember Jesus” and draw bread and a cup. Decorate it as you like. Cover it with a sheet protector, plastic wrap, or laminate it to protect it.
