Jesus and Nicodemus (Feb 22-23)

Jesus and Nicodemus (Feb 22-23)

February 20, 2020

This weekend in children’s church, we are learning about Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus. Jesus loved us so much that He died and rose again so we could be close to Him forever if we accept Him as Savior and Lord.

When you sit at home: Read John 3:1-5, 16. God loves the world so much that He sent His Son to die for us so that we can live forever close to Him. How do we receive the gift of eternal life? (Believe in Him.)

Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If not and you would like to, you can pray this simple A.B.C. prayer or a similar prayer:
Lord Jesus,
I Admit I am a sinner.
I Believe You are the Lord who died to take my sins away.
Please Come into my heart and I’ll follow You forever.
In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

If you or your child would like to know more about how to receive eternal life, use the Children’s Guide for New Believers (downloadable here) for further discussion and prayer.

When you walk along the road: The day we choose to believe in Jesus, He gives us new life. It’s like we have a second birthday, a spiritual birthday. What might be some good ways to celebrate this second birthday?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for loving us so much. Thank You for sending Jesus to show how much You love us and thank You for the gift of eternal life. Amen.”

When you get up: If you and your children have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, choose a way to celebrate your spiritual birthdays. If you or one of your children are not yet ready to take this step, take time to talk about what it means to be a follower of Jesus. The Children’s Guide for New Believers is a great way to get the discussion started. If you have questions or need assistance, let us know. We would love to talk with you.
