This weekend in our online children’s church service, we will continue learning stories from the Old Testament. We will hear about Gideon, a military leader, judge, and prophet called by God to save the Israelites.
When you sit at home: Ages 4-K read Judges 7:17-21, Grades 1-3 read Judges 7:2-7, 16-21, and Grades 4-5 read Judges 6:12-17, 36-40; 7:19-21. As we read about the miraculous way in which God helped Gideon and the Israelites defeat the Midianites, we learn God is always with us and we can trust His plan. We are also reminded to give God the glory for our victories. What does it mean to “give God the glory”?
When you walk along the road: When have you had to trust that God had a plan for your life?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for having a plan for me. Help me to always trust You and may we give You all the glory! Amen”
When you get up: The stories we are learning remind us that God is the King who watches over us. Listen to the Bible Memory Verse Song for this unit (below) and practice the scriptures we are learning.
