It’s the last weekend in 2019. In children’s church, we’ll be finishing the Christmas story with the story of the Magi (Wise Men). God sent a star to guide the Magi to Jesus. We are reminded that God leads all of us to Jesus.
When you sit at home: Age 3-Grade 3 read Matthew 2:1-2, 9-11. Grades 4-5 read Matthew 2:1-12. Why did the Magi follow the star?
Ages 4-K Whisper Verse: “They saw the star.”
When you walk along the road: To declare the glory of God is to point others to Him and His greatness. What has God used in your life to declare His glory and to lead you to Jesus?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for the star that led the wise men to You. Thank You for loving us so much that You lead us to Jesus. Amen.”
When you get up: In some traditions, people celebrate a holiday called “Three Kings Day” on January 6 to remember the Magi who traveled to see Jesus, the King of Kings. Why is the story of the Magi important to remember? What tradition could you start to remember the Magi and how they worshiped Jesus?
