Elisha and Naaman/ Amos and the Plumb Line (Sept 18-19)

September 16, 2021

We worship the God of power. There is nothing our God cannot do!

When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read 2 Kings 5:1, 9-10, 14-15. What happened when Naaman obey Elisha’s instructions from God? God healed Naaman because he obeyed. Through his healing, Naaman understood God was the God of power and miracles!

Grades 1-3 read Amos 4:12b-13; 5:14; 7:7-8. Grades 4-5 read Amos 4:12b-13; 5:11-14; 7:7-8. God sent Amos to the Israelites to give them a warning. They had become selfish and greedy and weren’t following God. In your own words, what was God’s warning to the Israelites?

When you walk along the road: When we put God first, we want to live a life that is pleasing to Him. How do we know what God wants us to do? God gives us the Bible and the Holy Spirit to know what is right and what is wrong. What are some ways we can live a life that is pleasing to God?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for the way You show Your power in our lives. Help us to live a life that is pleasing to You. Amen.”

When you get up: It’s not always easy to do what’s right. Memorizing scriptures is one way we can be reminded of what is good and true. As a family, write out your Bible memory verse and decorate it. Hang it where you will see it often. Challenge each other to learn the verse. Can you say it by heart by the end of the week?

Ages 3-K Bible Verse

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Grades 1-5 Bible Verse

'Prepare to meet your God, O Israel. He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals His thoughts to man, He who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth— the Lord God Almighty is His name.” “Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say He is.”
Amos 4:12b-13; 5:14
