We worship the God of Power. He is our mighty God and He is always with us!
When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read 2 Kings 4:8-11. Grades 1-5 read Jonah 1:4-5, 7, 11-12, 17; 3:4, 8-9; 4:1-2, 6-11. What did God do to show He cares about His people?
For grades 1-5: In the story of Jonah, God gave the Ninevites and Jonah a second chance. Every wrongdoing deserves punishment, but we are blessed because God does not always give us what we deserve. That’s called mercy. Thank God for His mercy toward us. Who has done wrongdoing toward you? Can you give them a second chance?
When you walk along the road: In 2 Kings the woman and her husband showed kindness to Elisha by sharing their home and their food with him. In the book of Jonah, we see how Jonah did not want to show kindness toward the Ninevites. How have people shown kindness to you? How have you shown kindness to others?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for speaking through the prophets. Fill us with Your Spirit so we may know Your kindness and forgiveness and show kindness to others. Amen.”
When you get up: God cared for Elisha’s needs through the woman and her husband and He cared for Jonah’s needs through a large fish! How could God use you to care for someone else’s needs?
