This week, we are moving to stories of the Old Testament. We begin with the story of Deborah, one of the judges of Israel.
When you sit at home: For ages 4-K, read Judges 4:4-5; 5:7 and for Grades 1-5 read Judges 4:1-9, 13-16. God gives us people to help us know what is right and fair. When have you needed someone to help you judge what was right and fair? Who helped you do that?
When you walk along the road: One of the ways God watches over us is by giving us people in our lives who help us make good choices. What other examples can you give of ways you have seen God is watching over you and your family?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for giving us people who help decide what is right and fair. Guide us all in our words and actions. Amen.”
When you get up: Share a snack together and choose one person to judge a fair amount of snack for each person. As you enjoy your snack, talk about a time when someone in your family had to judge what was right and fair.
