This weekend, we return to children's church in person! We celebrate the King who knows our hearts as we hear the story of David and Jonathan.
When you sit at home: Ages 3-K read 1 Samuel 18:1-4; 20:17, 42 and Grades 1-5 read 1 Samuel 18:1-9; 19:1-5; 20:13-24,30-34, 41-42. As we read, we learned David and Jonathan were true friends. What did Jonathan and David say or do that shows you they were friends?
When you walk along the road: What is the kindest thing a friend has done for you? What is the kindest thing you have done for a friend?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, God, for giving us friends. May our friendships be honoring to You. Help us to show love to them at all times. Amen.”
When you get up: Challenge the members of your family to tell a friend this week how much they mean to you. Think of a way you can show them kindness and do it! At the end of the week, share with your family how it went and what you did.

Grades 1-5 Bible Memory Verse
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23
