We worship the God who provides. That means He gives us what we need–including rules to keep us safe and happy.
When you sit at home: Ages 3-K read Genesis 3:1-13. Grades 1-2 read Genesis 3:1-23. Grades 3-5 read Genesis 2:16-17; 3:1-24. What did Adam and Eve do when they heard God coming? What better choice could they have made?
When you walk along the road: Sin is doing wrong in God’s eyes. Our sin separates us from God. What did God do to provide a way for us to come close to Him?
If your child would like to know more about how we can come close to God, use the Children’s Guide for New Believers (downloadable here) for further discussion and prayer.
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “God, thank You for the rules You give us that keep us safe and happy. Help us make right choices and to be careful to obey. Amen.”
Ages 4-K Whisper Verse: “Be careful to obey.”
When you get up: As a family, choose a game to play. Choose one person who doesn’t have to follow the rules or let everyone make up their own rules and try playing the game. Discuss what happened. Now, play the game according to the rules and enjoy!
