We worship the Holy Spirit who guides us, uniting as the body of Christ. The body of Christ is everyone who believes in Jesus. When we worship God together, we are helping and encouraging each other and building up the body of Christ. This weekend in children’s church, we will continue reading from the New Testament letters. We’ll talk about how God calls us to work together to serve others and point people to Jesus.
When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read Galatians 6:10. Grades 1-2 read 1 Corinthians 12:12, 17-18, 26. Grade 3 reads Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:12, 17-18, 26-27. Grades 4-5 read Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:12, 17-18; 1 Peter 2:9. What are some ways that believers can work together to help others and to point people to Jesus?
When you walk along the road: Why is it important for us to work together to help others and to point people to Jesus?
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for the body of Christ. Fill us with Your Spirit so we may understand the importance of uniting to serve others. Amen.”
When you get up: Choose an activity where you can serve others as a family. Afterward, talk about what each family member contributed and what strengths you noticed in each person. Talk about how you did (or didn’t!) work together to help others and to point people to Jesus.
