A Letter About Heaven/The Revelation of Jesus Christ (Aug 7-8)

August 5, 2021

We worship the Holy Spirit who shows us what will happen when Jesus comes one day with the clouds. This weekend in children’s church, we finish our lessons on the New Testament letters. We will learn what heaven is like and look forward to the day Jesus will return!

When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read Revelation 21:1-4, 18-19, 21, 23. Grades 1-3 read Revelation 19:11-16; 21:1-4; 22:20. Grades 4-5 read 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 19:11-16; 21:1-4; 22:20. What does John, the writer of Revelation, say we won’t see in heaven?

When you walk along the road: What do you think your favorite thing about heaven will be?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for making heaven a beautiful place where we can be with You forever. We look forward to the day You will return! Amen.'

When you get up: We know heaven will be an amazing place of joy and beauty, but God also created many beautiful things here on earth for us to enjoy. Spend time this week in a beautiful place and thank God for His creation. You may also wish to sing songs of praise or read scriptures about creation. Here are some suggestions: Genesis 1:1; Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 146:6; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11.
