Derek and Mary Lynn Parnell
The Parnells serve with Greater Europe Mission in the city of Girona, Spain, part of the Catalunya region. They have an overall mission to see cities transformed by sharing life and the gospel with the people they are in contact with. Although the primary language in their region is Catalan, Christian fellowship, teaching, and worship in Catalan is rare. The Evangelical church is on the rise, but primarily among South American immigrants, who worship in Spanish. There is little to no outreach or focus on the Catalan people group (the locals). The Parnells’ hearts are drawn to see many Catalans come to faith, and in turn, lead others who will lead others. In their free time, the Parnells enjoy going out on day trips to see the area, including visiting the mountains, the beaches, and cities.
