Paul and King Agrippa (May 15-16)

Paul and King Agrippa (May 15-16)

May 14, 2021

We worship the Spirit who connects us to each other and to Jesus. This weekend in children’s church, we will read how God made Paul bold to speak about Jesus to King Agrippa and Paul prayed for him to believe. We’ll talk about how we can pray for opportunities to share our faith and for others to know Jesus.

This weekend, Grades 1-5 will receive a personal invitation to be close to God through receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. If you or your child would like to know more about how to receive eternal life, use the Children’s Guide for New Believers (downloadable here) for further discussion and prayer.

When you sit at home: Age 3 - Kindergarten read Acts 26:2, 13-14, 17-19, 24-29. Grades 1-3 read Acts 26:19-31. Grades 4-5read Acts 26:19-32. Paul didn’t worry about how long it took for someone to grow closer to Jesus. He spoke the words the Holy Spirit led him to say and trusted God to speak to their hearts. Who is the only one who can cause people to believe?

When you walk along the road: The Holy Spirit connects us to each other and to Jesus. One way He does that is through prayer. When we pray for others to grow closer to Jesus, it connects us to Him and to each other. Why is it important for us to be connected to other believers?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for the opportunities You give us to spread the good news so others can know You. Guide us as we pray for those who hear it to believe. Amen.”

When you get up: Create a prayer chain. Cut strips of paper. Choose someone your family can pray for and write their name on a strip of paper. After you’ve prayed for that person, tape the paper into a circle and hang it somewhere in your home where you can remember to continue praying for that person. Each day, add a new name on a new strip of paper to the existing chain. But, don’t stop with just one! Add additional names as the Holy Spirit puts them on your hearts. Challenge your family to see how long you can make the chain.
