We worship the God whois Lord of all. That means He is the one in control of everything in heaven andon the earth. God keeps us close to Him.
When you sit at home: Age 3-Kindergarten read Daniel 6:14-23, 25-27. Daniel knew he could be thrown into the lions’ den for praying to God, but he prayed anyways. Why do you think Daniel continued to pray?
Grades 1-2 read Haggai 1:7-9; 2:4, 9, 23. Haggai was a prophet during the time that God’s people were rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem after enemies had torn it down. Haggai warned the people to put God first and make good choices.
Grades 3-5 read Zechariah 1:3; 4:6; 5:1-4; 9:9. Zechariah was a prophet during the time that God’s people were rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem after enemies had torn it down.
When you walk along the road: He knew God was in control of whatever happened to him.
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for always being with us. When we are afraid, help us remember You are withus. Help us to be like Daniel, giving time each day to talk with You in prayer.Amen.”
When you get up: Where in your life do you need to trust in God more? Create a prayer wall in your home using note cards or post-it notes to add your prayers. Take time each day to pray as a family. You can keep it simple with each person saying a sentence prayer such as “God, please be with … Maddie when she takes her test on Friday” or “God, help … Mom have patience at work.” You might even challenge each other to pray three times a day like Daniel! You can pray at breakfast, dinner, and bedtime or set alarms on your phones so that even when you aren’t together, everyone is praying at the same time.
Ages 3-K Bible Memory Verse: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Psalm 150:6
Grades 1-5 Bible Memory Verse: "You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
