Peter Visits Cornelius (Feb 27-28)

Peter Visits Cornelius (Feb 27-28)

February 25, 2021

We worship the Spirit who changes us. In Acts 10, we read about Peter’s visit with Cornelius. We learn God loves everyone the same and He washes away the sin of anyone who believes in Him.

When you sit at home: Age3-Kindergarten read Acts10:9-12, 15, 22-35. Grades 1-5 read Acts 10:11-12, 15, 34-36, 43-48. What did Peter’s vision of all different kinds of animals being lowered from heaven mean? (God has no favorites. No matter who we are, where we are from, what we have done, or what we look like—as soon as we believe in Jesus, we are forgiven and belong to Jesus forever.)

When you walk along the road: Peter’s vision reminds us that God loves us all the same. What are some reasons we reject or avoid certain people? How can you show acceptance of those who don’t "fit in"?

When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank you, Lord, for having no favorites. Help us understand Your forgiveness is for all who believe and to share that forgiveness with others. Amen.”

When you get up: From Ash Wednesday to Easter is the season of Lent. For more information about Lent and a short weekly family devotional, check out The Seven Stars of Lent on the Northland website.
