This weekend in children’s church, we will hear the story of Jesus’ baptism. We will learn God loved Jesus and was pleased with Him.
When you sit at home: Read Mark 1:1-11. Why are Christians baptized?
When you walk along the road: Jesus was baptized as a sign to show He belonged to God and wanted to please Him. What did God the Father say from heaven when Jesus came out of the water? (“You are my Son, whom I love; with You I am well pleased.”) Imagine what it would be like if God said those same words to you.
Ages 4-K Whisper Verse: “God loves you.”
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Lord, thank You for showing us You love us by sending Jesus to us. Thank You for making us Your children. Amen.”
When you get up: As a family, talk about what baptism is. If you or someone in your family has never been baptized before, this is your chance to take this step of obedience in Christ! A Northland staff person or volunteer can help you find out about the next baptism. For grades 2-5, we have Young Disciples 1& 2 to teach the children about communion and baptism. Classes start now!
