We worship the God who keeps all His promises. This weekend in children's church, we are learning God watched over Hagar and Ishmael and gave them a promise. We are reminded that God keeps His promises to us as well and He is always watching over us!
When you sit at home: Ages 3-K read Genesis 21:12-20. Grades 1-2 read Genesis 16:7-16; 21:14-20. Grades 3-5 read Genesis 16:7-16; 21:9-20. How did God care for Hagar and Ishmael? How does God care foryour needs?
When you walk along the road: What are some of the things you worry about? How might the story of Hagar and Ishmael help you with your worries? Can you think of a time when God helped you see He was with you?
Ages 4-K Whisper Verse: “The Lord watches over you.”
When you lie down: Pray this prayer each day this week: “Thank You, Lord, for watching over our family just as You watched over Hagar and Ishmael. We hope You are pleased with all You see. Amen.”
When you get up: God watched over Hagar and Ishmael by showing them a well full of water when they were thirsty and in the desert. Have an outdoor water relay! Gather a bucket of water, two small cups (or large spoons), and two bowls. Divide into two teams. Place the bucket of water at the start line and a bowl for each team at the finish line. The first team to fill their bowl using only the cup (or spoon) is the winner!
